A.I Emulates My Style of Writings

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

Yesterday, 10 PM was my deadline for our writers to submit all their columns and news articles to our newspaper. I still need one news to complete my quota of three news articles and one op-ed article for a week.

Since I was bereft of time, I wrote in English where I could do it fast instead of Tagalog where I have to pause and think about the right word in the vernacular. (example: Penetrating or obnoxious smells of the rotting garbage (nakakasulasok na amoy ng mga bulok na basura).

Pathetic Seeing PH Light Fighters Join U.S Superiority Jets

 By Mortz C. Ortigoza

Because a significant part of the government funds -- ₱700 billion annually or equivalent to roughly 20% of the national budget -- goes to the pockets of plundering Philippines officials, I pity seeing our airforce joining the yearly Cope Thunder being held at either Clark or Basa Air Base with our lightfigher cum trainer FA-50s operates with either the American F-16 multiple role figher (in years 2024 and 2025) and the superiority fighter’s F-22 Raptor for this year’s exercise.

Exercise Cope Thunder 26-1 started in April 6 and concluded on April 17, 2026 at Clark by bringing together the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) for intensive two-week joint air combat training. The exercise featured PAF FA-50s and U.S. F-22 Raptors, focusing on interoperability, defensive counter-air operations, and combat readiness in Northern Luzon.

The P55 million and P10 million funds came from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the local government unit (LGU) support fund’s Ugnayang Bayan Portal, respectively, according to Municipal Administrator Atty. Teodora Cerdan.

“Iyung 10 million rice distribution from the LGU Support Fund na naaccess natin sa Ugnayang Bayan Portal sa DBM through the initiative of Mayor Bona (D. Parayno) rin,” she stressed.

BAIT. An elite member of the Scout Ranger aims his Armalite rifle to a sniper of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) hiding at the top of the coconut tree while firing to a running Ranger below. The Ranger is a bait for his companions to locate the rebel and neautralize him just like what Pangasinan Cong. Leopoldo Bataoil (PMA 1976) narrated to this writer about the feat of legendary Scout Ranger Major Gen. Julius Javier (PMA 1970) in the 1970’s Moro Secessionist War in Jolo.

“Mga foster brother sila,” sabi sa akin ng magandang dalagitang kapitbahay namin na naging Heneral kalaunan sa mga First Class Men (o graduating o fourth year college sa pedestrian na nagbabasa ng blog na ito).

Kamikazes Lurk Dangerously While MacArthur Lands in Lingayen

By Mortz C. Ortigoza, MPA

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The 81st Lingayen Gulf Landing Anniversary during World War II and the 19th Veterans Day have been commemorated at the beach here recently.
It was graced by Undersecretary for Civilian and Reserve Affairs of the Department of National Defense (DND) Major Gen. Pablo M. Lorenzo in lieu of DND Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Pangasinan Gov. Ramon V. Guico III, Vice Governor Mark Lambino, military delegation from the Australian Embassy, foreign veterans, and officials of the Philippine Veterans Bank and Philippine Veterans Affairs Office.

LANDING
Supreme Allied Commander for the Far East American Five-Star General Douglas MacArthur's landing in Lingayen Gulf on January 9, 1945, was the final phase of his famous promise to return to the Philippines. While his first landing was in Leyte months earlier, the Lingayen operation was the massive amphibious assault needed to retake the capital, Manila.
